Research project.

For the past year I have been working on a research project called 2D on 3D. The project involves to creation of artwork that is three dimensional (sculptural) with two dimensional imagery on the surface. This has been an interesting an challenging experience.

Working with David Feinberg, an art professor at the University of Minnesota, in his studio on these projects has been a great learniung experience. The project involves the experimentation with color, line, composition, and the realtionship of imagery to surface. Working with all of these items together to create an interesting (and strange) artwork.

I took a class, with David in the spring of last year, called Painted Sculpture, where we explored similar methods of working. Working on this larger piece has allowed me to expand on my knowledge and technique of this painting method.

This is me, and the project, looking at angles that will create the most interesting imagery.

This is the unfinshed project by itself.

David and I talking about the imagery, and the next "move."
